William Eugene Holland

William Eugene Holland, 71, of Petersburg, passed away July 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 24, 1948 in Washington, IN to William and Vonnie Jean (Ropp) Holland. Bill served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knox County Marine Corp League and a member and deacon of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Petersburg. He worked as a City Letter Carrier and retired from the United States Postal Service.

Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley Holland; son, William Donald Holland; daughter, Lori Holland; granddaughter, Allie Holland; mother, Vonnie Jean Holland; brother, Milton Holland; and sister, Patty Weathers. He was preceded in death by his father, William Marion Holland and sister Linda Ropp.

Graveside services for Bill will take place at 12:30 PM EST on Monday, July 13, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. A walk through visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM EST at Harris Funeral Home on Monday. Military funeral honors will be performed by the Petersburg VFW at the graveside. Masks and social distancing are required for the duration of the visitation. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
