Vicky Sue (Collins) Burkhart

Vicky Sue (Collins) Burkhart, 70, of Petersburg, passed away February 25, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN. She was born August 27, 1951 in Washington, IN to Cleo and Evelyn (Wilson) Collins. She married Donald L. Burkhart on March 20, 1970 at the Church of God in Petersburg, IN. They were happily married for almost 52 years.

She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1969 and Evansville Beauty College. She spent her entire work career as a beautician. Vicky owned and operated the Cottage Beauty Salon in Petersburg for 35 years. She also attended the First Church of God in Petersburg.

The light of her life were her children and later her grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed following all of their activities over the years from dance to sports to music to dramatic productions. She loved to cook and have her family around her especially for Sunday dinners, special occasions, and holidays. She also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, Donald and three children, Christopher (Anisia) Burkhart, Bradley (Michelle) Burkhart, and Sara (Nick) Willis; grandchildren, Chloe Willis, Maxwell Burkhart, and Jackson Burkhart, all of Petersburg. She is also survived by many extended family members who she loved dearly.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Visitation will take place for Vicky from 4- 8 PM EST on Wednesday, March 2, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will be at 11 AM EST on Thursday, March 3, at the funeral home. Pastor Don Fausnaugh will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
