Vicki Shoultz Obituary

Vicki Jean (Charles) Shoultz , age 71, of Petersburg, Indiana, went to her heavenly home on September 22, 2020, following a five year battle with brain cancer. She was born May 13, 1949, in Washington, Indiana, to Alvin Charles and Cloetta (Cockerham) Sipes.

On June 21, 1969, she married the ’cute neighbor boy,’ next door, Rick Shoultz.   They were married for 51 years.  Vicki had a peaceful passing at home with Rick by her side. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit.  Rick and Vicki shared many laughs over the years with their playful banter.  Although her battle with cancer was long and hard, she never complained. Vicki was always positive and with Rick’s help made the most of her time here with us. She never lost her sense of humor, and you could find them laughing together until the very end.

Vicki graduated from Petersburg High School in 1967. After she and Rick were married, she was a homemaker for several years and then began working at the Petersburg Elementary School where she worked for 20 years.  She left the elementary school when she and Rick bought the convenience store, PC 1 Stop. They ran the store together for 14 years until Vicki became ill.

Vicki would say her greatest blessings in life were her children and grandchildren. She had two children, Clint (Holly) Shoultz, of Petersburg, and Valli (Cory) Williams, of St. Louis.  More than anything on earth, Vicki loved her four grandsons. She was the best Mimi to Xavier and Ian (Clint and Holly) and Ryker and Gibson (Valli and Cory). Mimi adored them and they adored her. She was the best storyteller, book reader, game player, and all around good time with her boys.

Vicki felt so blessed she and Rick had so many wonderful, wonderful friends. She was very adamant about this being stated.  She thanked God for putting them in her path. Vicki was a proud member of the Alford United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended for many years. Her strong faith was evident by the way she lived her life.

Vicki was the oldest of five siblings whom she loved dearly. She also thought the world of her aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Charles, and her brother, Mark Charles.

Vicki will be remembered for her beautiful, kind and quiet spirit. To honor Vicki we will have a celebration of life at a later time.
