Verdayne Miley, 61, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away at home with his wife of 40 years, Carol, and a Heart to Heart Hospice nurse at his side.
He was born in Princeton, Indiana, to Darrell Miley and Oudia Jane (Colbert) Ingram.
He sang Southern Gospel music for over 30 years and was a Nashville recording artist. He has written a few songs and had one played on a few gospel music stations. He has played and sang with, among others, the following gospel groups and individuals: Scott Harvey, Derrick Barton, The Challengers, New Life Singers, The Cissells, and a duet with Carla Knight.
He and Carol enjoyed riding and entering their Gold Wing motorcycles in shows, remembered in many pictures and trophies. He was a member of Timeless Classics Car Club, where they enjoyed showing their Ford Blue Mustang, with more wonderful memories captured in pictures and trophies.
Of great pride was when Verdayne returned to high school and, on July 10, 2014, he received his High School General Equivalency Diploma.
He was a member of Glezen Revival Center.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Miley; cousin, Jody Miley; and many cousins on his mother’s side.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, June 30, 2023, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Atkinson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
