Shirley I. (Dunn) Wineinger

Shirley I. Wineinger, 84, of Otwell went to her forever home on January 22, 2021 at Legacy Living in Jasper, IN.  She was born September 4, 1936 to George Lester Dunn and Leona (Johns) Dunn.  She married the love of her life, William Boyd Wineinger, on May 6, 1955.

She worked as the manager at Jr. Food Mart and Subway in Petersburg for many years and Home Outfitters in Jasper.  She enjoyed working with the public, never met a stranger, and had many friends.

Shirley found joy riding motorcycles, camping and team driving with her husband over the road in their semi.  They enjoyed living in Florida during the winters, riding bicycles, walking on the beach, picking up shells, and feeding birds and squirrels.  She took great pride in sharing stories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her many friends.  Shirley was a lifetime member of the VFW and very proud of her Veteran family.

She is survived by her husband and best friend, Boyd Wineinger, son Calvin (Christy) Wineinger, daughters Debra Brown and Marcia (Keith) Hill, sister Carolyn (Eugene) Hayes, grandchildren Nate and Logan Wineinger, Aric and Abby Boger, Mindy Hill-Keeker, John Hill and Katie Cullen, Aaron Standley, 15 great-grandchildren, and the nieces, nephews, and cousins she adored and who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, Harold, and Lee Dunn, son-in-law Mark Brown and granddaughter Melanie Wineinger.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 29, at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell, IN and officiated by Shirley's grandson-in-law, Reverend Ian Cullen. Masks and social distancing must be maintained at the graveside by state Covid-19 mandates. In addition, those attending the service at the cemetery may choose to remain in their vehicles and tune to 87.9 FM to hear to the service once underway.
