Sherry Lynne (Burton) Braun

Sherry L. Braun, 82, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 1, 1940, in Petersburg, IN to the late Lionel V. Burton and Inez I. (Jerrell) Horrell.

Sherry was married to Russell K. Braun on July 30, 1958. They were married for 61 years. She was a graduate of Petersburg High School, the class of 1958. She worked as Deputy Clerk Treasurer for the City of Petersburg for many years. She retired from the Pike County Highway Department where she worked as the Assistant Bookkeeper. Sherry was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved her family dearly.

Sherry is survived by her son, Terry (Laurie) Braun; daughter, Angie (Brian) Davis; grandchildren, Mandy (Kyle) Adams, Tyler (Deidra) Braun, Ashley Davis, Allyson Davis, and Cody Davis; great grandchildren, Ella, Amelia and Wesley Adams, Landry, Zoey and Huxley Braun, Hayden, Hadley and Holdyn Davis; Sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Braun of Dixon, MO; Brother-in-law, Wayne Traylor of Otwell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; father, Lionel; mother, Inez; and brother, Jerrell (Jerry) Burton.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Walnut Hills Cemetery, with Pastor Ron Ficklin officiating. In accordance with Sherry's wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation prior to services at the graveside.
