Scott Alan Kirby

Scott Alan Kirby, 60, of Winslow, passed away April 29, 2023 in Evansville, IN. He was born December 13, 1962 to Ted and Florence (Barton) Kirby in Evansville, IN. He worked as a Boilermaker for 21 years and was previously a Trustee of the Boilermakers Local #374. He owned the construction company Homes by Kirby Inc. and won the Parade of Homes Award for Best Exterior. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting, his yearly trips to Madeira Beach, FL with friends, and being “Pappy” to his grandchildren. Scott married his wife of almost 21 years, Kena Kirby, on June 22, 2002.

Scott is survived by his wife, Kena Kirby; daughters, Megan (Jason) Williams, Chelsea (Chris) Yon, and Kyleigh (Nick) Kluemper; son, Cody Cannon; grandchildren, Sayla, Simone, Surie, Kingston, Daxyn, Kaebri, Tinsley, and Tate; sisters, Susan Cunningham, Carol Haynes, and Donna Bruce; several nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Ellie.

Services for Scott will be held at 11 AM EST on Friday, May 5, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 4 PM until 8 PM EST on Thursday, May 4, at the funeral home. Pastor Frank Coleman will be officiating and burial will follow the service at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
