Ruth Louise (White) Perry, 84, of Petersburg, went to be with her Savior on Monday, August 14, 2023. Louise was born October 4, 1938 to Alva and Ruth (Engler) White in Princeton, IN. She married her husband Gordon Dale Perry on April 23, 1961.
She was a dedicated Christian lady who served her Lord by touching everyone she met with help and encouragement. She and Dale had four children and operated a cattle farm near Hazleton, IN for over forty years. She was a faithful member of the River of Life Church in Petersburg, IN. Louise was part of a gospel trio at her church and gospel music was her hobby all her life. She was an avid attendee for every gospel concert or event that she could attend. However, her greatest joy and first priority was always her family. She raised her children and helped raise their children, and also their children’s children. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by the bustle and noise of her family – the more the merrier! Louise loved people and if she knew you then you became part of her family. She had a great heart for service and always was ready to do whatever she could to help anyone and everyone in any way. Her servant’s heart has endeared her to many people. Her family, extended family, friends, and acquaintances will mourn her greatly. Her legacy is not gone. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all the people she was privileged to touch with her presence and we shall all meet again in Heaven. That was her great joy and hope in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Louise is survived by her sons, Kevin Perry of Hazleton, Paul (K. Louise) Perry of Petersburg, and Kyle (Lynette) Perry of Avon, IN; daughter, Lori (Eric) Gilham of Otwell; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas Chandler of Roseburg, OR and Robert White of Kansas City, KS.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Dale Perry; parents, Alva and Ruth White; a grandchild, Jonathan Daniel Perry; brothers, Alva White Jr., James White, Richard White and Jerry White; and a sister, Lois Chandler.
Services for Louise will take place at 12 PM EST on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the River of Life Church in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Pastor Jim Gidcumb will be officiating, and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
