Richard Kim Marsh, 67, of Winslow, Indiana passed away at his home on August 8, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1955, in Winchester, Kentucky. Richard was raised in Stanton, Kentucky where he attended Powell County High School.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; daughter Ashley (Neal) Hurm; grandchildren Chloe, Callie and Cooper Hurm of Owensboro, Kentucky; sister Lillian Marsh Brown of Winchester, Kentucky; brother Harry (Rita) Marsh of Stanton, Kentucky; sister-in-law Roberta Marsh; and much loved nephews, nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Marsh, mother Easter Marsh Rogers, stepfather Alvin Rogers, sister Naomi Horn, brother Omer “Tommy” Marsh, brothers-in-law Harold Horn and Frank Brown, and in-laws David “Bill” and Elsie Jones.
Richard worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired from Operating Engineers Local 841. He spent his retirement years fishing at Kentucky Lake and made fishing trips with his good buddies to Mississippi and Louisiana. He also competed in black powder shooting matches with his brothers, nephew and great nephew. He was a passionate fan of University of Kentucky basketball and football. He also had a special love and appreciation for God’s creation: nature, birds, the outdoors and dogs, especially Buddy & Frank. Richard’s faith & trust in his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life and was especially evident during the last 2 months he spent battling cancer. We rejoice in God’s promise that we will one day all be reunited in Heaven.
