Rheta Sue Rowe, 85, Monroe City, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. She was born on January 23, 1934, to Earl and Garnet (Williams) Cornelison. She graduated from Monroe City High School in 1952. Sue married Fred J. Rowe on May 15, 1955. She was employed first by Monroe City High School and then Harrison Elevator. She retired from Robinson Elevator after many years. Sue was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer. She was an active supporter of the South Knox Young Farmers while her husband was an Agriculture teacher. She loved following the activities of her many nieces and nephews and their children. She loved her community and the people in it.
Sue was predeceased by her husband Fred J. Rowe, and her brother Allen Cornelison. She is survived by her sister Gay Cornelison, brother Curt (Cathy) Cornelison, and sister-in-law Margie Cornelison. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Pat (Pam) Cornelison, Sue Ann (Don) Steinmetz, Julie (Michael) Edwards, Jason Benock, Jennifer (Conway) Cox, Ellen Benock, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Knox Future Farmers of America or the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Harris Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday November 24 at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, Monroe City. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday November 25 at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, Monroe City.
