Michael W. Lamb

Michael W. Lamb, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on February 10, 2021.  Mike had been in declining health since his retirement from the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office in 2019.

Mike was born in Petersburg to William and Carolyn Lamb, and lived there until he went off to college.  He graduated from IU Law School, and after passing the bar exam, he went to work for over 30 years at the Prosecutor’s Office where he worked most of his career in the Vanderburgh Superior and Circuit Courts prosecuting felons.

Mike was somewhat of a loner, but that did not keep him from being a world traveler.  He went all over Europe, to Japan, Thailand, Brazil, Aruba, New Zealand and numerous other domestic and foreign destinations.

Mike was an easy-going, friendly, soft-spoken guy who was always impeccably dressed.  With the recent passing of his mother, Carolyn, Mike had no remaining immediate family, but he was survived by an aunt, Linda Schorling, and several cousins, some of whom are still in the Petersburg area.  He also had a long-time friend in Verdalski Miller.  Mike said several times to his guardian, Susan Wilkie, and Verdalski that he wanted to help support the Boom Squad of Evansville, but due to his decline he was unable to make that happen.  For those wanting to honor Mike’s life, please donate to Boom Squad Inc., on-line at www.boomsquadinc.com or at PO Box 3902, Evansville, IN 47737, where their mission is “to provide youth the necessary skills to make well informed choices that lead to healthy lifestyles and successful futures.”
