Mary Joan Eisele, 87 of Petersburg, In passed away on Wednesday September 23rd 2020 at her residence. Her nieces Barbara (Duncan) Mathies and Mary Jane (Duncan) Crouchley were at her side when she passed away. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend to many.
She was born in Wheeling, IN on October 22nd 1932 to the late Joseph H. Pauley and Opha (Jones) Pauley. She graduated from Mount Olympus High school in 1950, and was married to Louis G. Eisele for nearly 44 years prior to his death in 1995.
Joan was a cook at Petersburg High school and later Pike Central High School in Petersburg for 30 years. She retired as the Head Cook at Pike Central High School in 1999.
Joan is survived by her son, Louis D. Eisele of Petersburg, grandson Nathan M. Eisele of Evansville, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis G. Eisele, her grandson Douglas Joseph Eisele, father Joseph H. Pauley, mother Opha Pauley and brothers, Herschel “Bud” Pauley, Henry Pauley, Fred Pauley, Jack Pauley and sisters, Lafern Seifers, Jane Wiza, Grace Fagerlie and Ruth Hume.
Visitation will be from 11AM -2PM on Saturday October 3rd at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, In. Graveside Services will be officiated by Reverend Shane Springer at Walnut Hills Cemetery at 2:30PM on Saturday October 3rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alford United Methodist Church in Alford, In.
