Obituary

Mark A. Hicks, 56, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his home from natural causes. He was born October 2, 1967 to Eugene and Katherine (DuKate) Hicks in Washington, IN. He graduated from Pike Central High School and was employed by Allied Universal as a security guard at Perdue Processing in Washington, IN.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Gwin (Dallas) Frederick and Evelyn Hicks both of Petersburg; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many great friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Carl Hicks and Ruth Davis; maternal grandparents, Earl and Esther DuKate; brother, Donald Hicks; sister, Lisa (Hicks) Cannon; nephew, Donald Hicks Jr. and niece, Bambi Cannon.

Services for Mark will take place at 1 PM EST on Saturday, February 18, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 10 AM EST until service time. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
