Marilyn Joyce (Patton) Padgett

Marilyn Joyce Padgett, 84, of Otwell, IN, passed away September 20, 2022 in Jasper, IN. She was born September 1, 1938 in Otwell, IN to Marion and Rosalie (Dillon) Patton. She worked for 20 years for Memorial Hospital in Jasper as a CNA. She was a 50 year member of the Washington Eastern Star Lodge #210 and served as a Past Grand Matron. She was also a proud member of the Otwell United Methodist Church in Otwell, IN. Marilyn spent 59 years of marriage with her late husband, Richard Padgett Sr.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Richard Harold (Kim) Padgett Jr of Otwell, IN and Ronald Allen (Pam) Padgett of Wewahitchka, FL; grandchildren, Andrea (Nate) Readle, Keith Padgett, Ashley (James) Taunton, Angela (Brittany Brown) Padgett, Mark (Sharonah) Fowler, Hannah Padgett, Jeorgia Padgett, Kyle (Jaisi) Fowler, Shaun (Jamie) Foster, and Tom (Kelly) Foster; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Padgett Sr; her parents, Marion and Rosalie Patton; daughter, Peggy Sue Foster; granddaughter, Adrienne (Bob) Sullivan; brothers, Robert Patton and an infant child; and sisters, Nelda Hoffman and Glenda Vaughn.

Services for Marilyn will take place at 10 AM EST on Monday, September 26, at Otwell United Methodist Church in Otwell, IN with visitation from 4-6 PM EST on Sunday, September 25, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN. Pastor Jeff Pinney will be officiating and burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery in Velpen, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in Jasper, IN and may be mailed to 800 W. 9th Jasper, IN 47546. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
