Obituary

MMN2 Ethan Reed Gorby, 20, of Goose Creek, SC, passed away May 2, 2023, in Charleston County, SC. He was born August 10, 2002 to Chris Gorby and Starla Lewis in Terre Haute, IN. Ethan is a graduate of Pike Central High school Class of 2021. He joined the United States Navy where he completed basic training and Nuclear School in the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, SC where he was trained to be a Machinist's Mate Nuclear Second Class.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Chris (Sarah) Gorby and Starla (TJ) Lewis; siblings, Kendall Gorby, Olivia Gorby, Grant Goldsberry, Wyatt Collins, Quinton Lewis, Mitchell Wadsworth, Sammy Heffernan, and Libby Heffernan.

Services for Ethan will take place at 1 PM EST on Tuesday, May 23, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 3 PM – 8 PM on Monday, May 22, and 8:30 AM until service time on Tuesday. Full military honors and burial will take place at Walnut Hills cemetery following the service. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
