Jimmie F. Hayes, 88, of Petersburg passed away on March 16 at Golden Living Center. He was born August 29, 1930 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to George and Edna (Breeding) Hayes. He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Mining Company. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Church of Petersburg and the United Mine Workers Association
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Vonda Hayes; sons, Tony Ray Hayes and Randy D. Hayes; daughters, Darlene Mottern, Rhonda J. Hayes, and Rhea D. Turner; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brother, Melbin Hayes; and sisters, Lillian Reed and Judy Scroghan.
He is preceded in death by his son Glendon S. Hayes and his parents.
Services for Jimmie will be held 11 AM EST on Thursday, March 21, at the Twin Oaks Church in Petersburg. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM EST on Wednesday, March 20, at the church. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Cemetery and Pastor Ronnie Ficklin will be officiating. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
