Jack Miley Hunt, 88, passed away December 28, 2018 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. He was born November 5, 1930 in Gibson County to Purley and Opal Hunt. Jack graduated from Mt Olympus High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Hunt Well Service until his retirement. He married his wife, Jane Carolyn 'Harvey' Hunt on December 14, 1951.
Jack is survived by his son, Larry (Candy) Hunt of Hazelton; daughters, Nancy Sapp of Milton, FL, Peggy Brenton-Goepfrich (Allan) of Jasper, Phyllis (Kevin) Arnold of Winslow, and Melanie (Amy) Hunt of Evansville; grandchildren, Clint, Brian, and Katelyn Mickow; Jeff and Beth Brenton; Demi Arnold Schmitt; Joshua and Jordan Hunt, Jana Frederick, and Julie Robling; and Isaiah, Hunter, Josiah, Rose, Jax, and Dallas Thaxton; and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Carolyn 'Harvey' Hunt; parents; brothers, Arthur, Glenn, Roscoe, Clarence, and Donald; sisters, Edith Cusick, Dorothy Utley, Elizabeth Elliott, and Mary Phillips.
Visitation for Jack will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 1-3 PM EST at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg and a private graveside service will take place at Union Community Cemetery. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Union Community Cemetery and can be mailed to 4805 N. 550 E. Francisco, IN 47649. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Amber Manor Care Center and Asera Care Hospice. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
