Jack (Jackie Ray) Brenton, 76, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born August 25, 1943 to Wilfred Jack and Louetta (Corten) Brenton. He married his classmate Margarett Sue (Suzie) Davis on December 20, 2014, celebrating 5 ½ years of marriage.
Jack practiced law as an attorney in Evansville, was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and active in Thunder Bolt Pass Men’s Golf Club. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Petersburg, IN, and loved golfing.
Jack is survived by wife Suzie; son Kyle (Amy) Brenton; stepchildren J.D. (Lisa) Burton, Chris (Terri) Burton, and Gaynecia (Tim) Keusch; 16 grandchildren; brother Gene (Bettie) Brenton; and a nephew that was like a brother Jeff (Misty) Brenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Keith Brenton, and sister Mary Teague.
A walk through visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 801 E. Walnut Street, Petersburg, Indiana with a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m, officiated by Rev. Michael Punke and Rev. Mel Camp, with soloists Piper and Gaynecia Keusch. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing should be maintained at the church and mask-wearing is requested.
Memorial contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to First UMC in Petersburg, and the Mary Teague Community Foundation.
