Gary F Sutton was born the son of Victor A. Sutton and Chloe Phillips Sutton on June 12, 1934. His parents are both deceased.
He was raised in the Bowman community, going to grade school there, then graduated from Petersburg High School in 1952. He farmed all his life and also worked at Old Ben Coal Company for 26 years before retiring. Gary served in the 3rd Armored Division of the United States Army in Germany.
Gary married Sharon Rose Boger on November 24, 1954. They were married for 66 years.
Gary was a member of the First Christian Church of Petersburg, Masons, Hadi Shrine and Scottish Rite.
He enjoyed working with his hands, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Surviving are his wife Sharon, his son, Gary Joe (Ann) Sutton and his daughter, Susan (Jeff) May of Evansville. Grandchildren Nicole Sutton of Petersburg, Sarah (Jose) Mota and Christopher (Cory) Sutton both of Evansville. A step-granddaughter, Hadley May of Evansville. He is also survived by one niece Carol Sue Sutton and one nephew Greg Coleman, both of Petersburg. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother John William Sutton, sister Georgia Mae Coleman, and nephew John Phillip Sutton.
