Forrest "Nub" Boger

Forrest (Nub) Boger, 88, of Petersburg passed away peacefully at Amber Manor on June 14, 2020. He was born January 31, 1932 to Paul and Mary Lois (Bassinger) Boger. He married Barbara L. Meadors on October 28, 1951. They were married 61 years.

Nub was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg. He wore many hats, he was a farmer, factory worker, coal miner, and part owner of Main Street Motors until retirement. He was an honorary mayor of Dutchtown. His hobbies included eating at restaurants, riding a lawn mower, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, chasing cattle, and attending Johny Ray’s Auction.

Nub is survived by three children, Arnold (Sarah) Boger, Donnie (Mary) Boger, and Sherry (Dennis) Bishop all of Petersburg. Seven grandchildren, Charlotte (Dave) Beck, Dawn (Ryne) Biesterveld, Stacy (Joe) DeRose, Robin (Eric) Smith, Stephanie (Ryan) Ruppel, Lindsey (Zack) Fair, and Shawn Boger. He had a “herd” of great grandchildren, one niece, Vickie (Boger) Rauch, one nephew, Brian Boger, and a special friend, Eleanor Gladish. He loved his big family.

Nub was proceeded in death by his parents, his only brother, Ronnie Boger, and his wife, Barbara, who passed away May 28, 2012.

A walk through visitation will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Walnut Hills Cemetery with Bill Slaven officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. The family wishes to thank Amber Manor Care Center and Dr. Gary Keepes for their kindness and care during his stay at Amber Manor.
