Dorothy Rund Gould went to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, November 22, 2020 at Amber Manor Care Center.
Dorothy was born on March 29, 1926 to Ira and Edna Fuller. She was one of eight children. One sister, Mildred Metzger of Springfield, MO survives.
She married Albert Lee Rund on Feb. 25, 1949. They were married 38 years until the death of her husband. Dorothy & Al had four children. Following the death of Al in 1988 Dorothy married James W. Gould, he also preceded her in death.
In 1965 Dorothy and her family came to Pike County as one of the first families employed at the new Indianapolis Power & Light plant.
She was a dedicated mother and homemaker for her family. She played piano, enjoyed knitting, sewing and taking care of her family and was one of the first people to become a resident of Assisted Living at Amber Manor where she enjoyed going on the Country Cruise’s, playing bingo, and just being a part of the community there. While at Amber Manor Dorothy entertained the residents by playing songs on the piano that were loved by all! She played piano for church services.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg where she served as church pianist, attended Bible studies and sang in the choir.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Stan (Julia) Rund, of Merrillville, IN and grandson, James W. Gould II. She is survived by two daughters, Marjean (Eddie) Willis of Petersburg and Lynita (Greg) Hood of Lincoln, NE, also a son, Leslie (Elaine) Rund of Petersburg; Jeff (Ann) Gould of Purcellville, VA; Pam Gould of Fredricksburg, VA; and Connie Gould of Deerfield Beach FL; her grandchildren, Bryan (Susie) Miley, Sheila Miley (Jason) Bjorkquist, Curtis (Kathy) Rund, Elisabeth (Mike) Rosales, Grace (Matt) Kellett, Adrienne Rund, Josh (Alexis) Hood, Stephanie (Luke) Hopken, Robert Woods, Richie (Sheryl) Willis, Kristy Stone, Michelle (Jeremy) Cundiff, and Anna Elizabeth Gould.
Graveside services will be held at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg on Friday, November 27 at 10 AM EST with Eddie Willis officiating. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
