Dana Lee Zazzetti, age 73 of Petersburg, passed away surrounded by her adoring family at 6:33pm on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 22, 1947 in Chicago Heights, IL to Martin and Bonnie (Fisher) Keith. Dana grew up in Chicago Heights before moving to Winslow, IN with her family in 1971. She is survived by her children: David (Joni) Zazzetti of Lincoln City, Anthony (Christina) Zazzetti of Jasper, Nicole (Greg) Gadlage of Jasper, and Eric (Tera) Zazzetti of Winslow; her brothers: Martin Kelly (Gretchen) Keith of Evansville, Stephen (Alice) Keith of Petersburg and estranged sister Linda “Dinky” Bartley of Patoka; 10 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dana was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Keith and wife Augusta, and brother, Scott “Bob” Keith.
After 24 years, Dana retired from National Office Furniture before working as a beloved cook at The Rock in Ireland. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with and cooking for her family, travelling – especially to the ocean - and sewing. At age 72, Dana proudly checked parasailing off her bucket list while in Florida. In later years, she enjoyed fun and mischief with her apartment friends – lovingly referred to as the “Golden Girls”. Dana was a fiercely loving mom, mother-in-law, granny, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend, and nothing made her happier than having those she loved around her.
Funeral services for Dana L. Zazzetti will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN at 1 PM EST on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
