Obituary
Carolyn Sue Hayes, 83, of Otwell, passed away June 26, 2023 in Otwell, IN. She was born September 26, 1939 to Floyd and Christina Jewel (Smith) Roberts. Carolyn graduated from Otwell High School Class of 1957. She went on to become a hairdresser and served the area for 50 years. She was a faithful member of the Algiers United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Otwell Community Center and the Otwell Library.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Kim (Paul) Lueken of Huntingburg and Kristi (Brian Garrett) Query of Eckerty; grandchildren, J.D. Wheatley and Madison Whitehead; step grandchildren, Josh Lueken and Maddex Garrett; and great grandchildren, Ellison and Parker Whitehead.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Hayes; her parents; and her brother, Ron Roberts.
Services for Carolyn will be held at 2 PM EST on Monday, July 3, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 11 AM until service time. Pastor Mike Atkins will be officiating and burial will follow at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell, IN. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
