Austyn Michael Walburn

On May 31, 2021, Austyn Walburn of Petersburg, Indiana passed away at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana. Austyn was born August 23, 2002 to Michael Walburn and Terra (Lynch) Boyd in Jasper, Indiana.

He attended both Pike Central and Wood Memorial High School where he made many lifelong friends. He had worked for his father at Walburn Fencing. Austyn loved to listen to music, University of Kentucky basketball, spending time with family and friends, fish, mushroom hunt, trash talk his dad while playing video games, spending time with his girlfriend, Ashtyn Welp, and he was always ready for a pick-up game of basketball.

He is survived by his parents; Terra Boyd and Michael (Candice) Walburn; siblings; Kaleb, Emma, and Brooklyn Walburn, Anthony and Jasmine Gonterman, and Bentley Boyd; grandparents; Kim and Danny Willett, Teresa (Rob) Garland, Mike (Jan) Walburn, Larry Lynch, Debby Martin, and Jr Hambrick; uncles; Nathan Fair, Zach Skinner, and Seth Garland; aunts; Chyanna (Stephen) Lemond, Samantha (Jason) Taylor, and Falon (Josh) Paul; and several cousins and great aunts and uncles; grandparents, Jim and Brenda Hovis and Bonnie Walburn; and great grandparents, Bill and Maxine Walburn.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Joy and Kermit Underhill and John Wayne Wilson Sr; great-great grandparents; Dora “Isabelle” and John “Hamilton” Hedges; great uncles; John Wayne Wilson Jr and Danny Hedges; and great aunt; Tonya Wilson.

Services for Austyn will take place at 2 PM EST on Sunday, June 6, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Pastor Tuffy Blackwell will be officiating and burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
