William "Bill" D. McKinney, 72, of Otwell, passed away January 9, 2023 in Petersburg, IN. He was born March 21, 1950 to William Russell and Lillie May (Miller) McKinney in Vincennes, IN. Bill graduated from Winslow High School and went on to join the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for KU Utilities in Kentucky and Solar Sources Coal Mine.

Bill is survived by his sons, Jason "JK" (Holly) McKinney and Chris (Jamie) McKinney; grandchildren, Emma McKinney, Celena Pretorius, Destinee McKinney, Chaney McKinney, and Cobey McKinney; great grandchild, Dexter Conrad; and sister, Sheila Julian. He is preceded in death by his son in 1985, BJ McKinney and his parents.

In accordance with Bill's wishes, he will be cremated.  The Celebration of Life will be at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Petersburg, Indiana.  Friends may visit at the church from 1:00pm until service time.
