William Ernest Keeton, 67, of Winslow, IN, lovingly referred to as "Ernie or Willie", passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 1, 2023.

He was born on December 3, 1955 in Ashland, KY.  He is preceded in death by: father, George Elmer Keeton; mother, Belva Irene (Mackenzie) Keeton Wellman; three brothers, Gary Keaton & Ted & Rick Keeton; two sisters: Virginia Baldridge, Connie Moore; and sister-in-law, Sara (Killion) Fowler.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy (Killion) Keeton; daughter, Mary Buckman & son, James Keeton, all of Winslow, IN; three grandsons, Dakota (Nicah) Walker of McCord AFB, WA, Jace Kell of Winslow, IN & Max Keeton of Hatfield, IN; one granddaughter, Ava Rodgers of Hatfield, IN; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Walker; great-grandson, Scout Walker; brother, George Keeton of Hammond, IN; sisters: Shirley (Jim) Slater of Hereford, AZ., Barbara Ann Keeton of Argillite, KY, Brenda Keeton-Belford of Flatwoods, KY, Debbie (Roger) Peterman of Cannonsburg, KY; and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces and life-long friends.

He retired from Hurst Mfg in Princeton, IN, where made many friends.  Anyone who he encountered became an immediate friend. Ernie was an avid sports fan and coached little league and basketball for his children and grandchildren. He loved to turn wrenches on motors and smoky burnouts.  His children and grandchildren were his life. His loss will be deeply felt by those whose life he touched.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm EST on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN, with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00pm EST until service time at the funeral home.
