William "Bill" L. Byrd, 83, passed away December 14, 2019 in Petersburg, IN. He was born on June 18, 1936 to Earl and Nellie Byrd. He graduated from Madison Township School and he also served in the National Guard and he was a retired farmer. On December 5, 1997 he married Wanda Wade [Brewster}. They were married for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Byrd; sons, James Byrd-Winchester, IN, David Byrd, Elwood, IN, Ron Byrd, Brookston, IN; daughters - Diana Dull- Winchester, IN, Karen Byrd Hardin, Louisville, KY; sisters Mildred and  Alice; brothers, John Byrd, Ohio and Junior Byrd; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; stepchildren- Tara Summers, Stan Brewster, Michelle Watjen; 7 step- grandchildren and 5 step- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Byrd Visitation will be on Thursday 12-19-19 from 12 to 2pm at Harris Funeral Home with service at 2pm. Burial at Sunset Cemetery.
