Vonda Carter Crabtree, 86, of Petersburg, IN passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born to Gerald Carter and Ellone Dilley Carter Bartlow on April 30, 1934 in Petersburg, IN. She had been employed as a waitress at the Shamrock Café in Petersburg and Uniroyal factory in Washington, IN. She was a member of the 16th St. General Baptist Church in Petersburg.

Vonda is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Steve) Meadors; grandchildren, Kevin, Todd, and Kaci Meadors; great grandchildren, Megan Meadors Bates, Tyler Meadors, and Briar Meadors; sister, Monzella Stout; uncle, Paul Dilley; nieces and nephews, June Cochran, Angie Abbott, Denesa Cook, Pat and Jeff Bouchie, Doug Phillips, and Jarod Bradfield; and lifelong friend, June Brooks. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Crabtree; parents, Gerald Carter and Ellone Dilley Carter Bartlow; brothers, Richard Carter and Eugene (Buggsy) Phillips.

Graveside services will take place at 1 PM EST on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Pastor Chalmer Burden will be officiating. We ask that anyone attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
