James "Tommy" Ballard, 53, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Denise (Cox) Ballard; son Sammy Ballard; mother Martha Ballard Austin; stepfather Paul Austin; brother Scott (Beth) Ballard of Columbus, IN; father-in-law Dennis Cox; sister-in-law Gena (Rob) Ruppel; brother-in-law Dennis Cox, Jr.; nieces and nephews Chase (Sierra), Kirsten, and Parker Ballard, Ryan (Stephanie) Ruppel, and great-niece Sydalee Ruppel.

He is preceded in death by his father Ron Ballard, mother-in-law Paula Cox, and Grandmother Mamie Goodman.

Tommy attended Springs Valley School and graduated in 1987 from Pike Central High School.

Tommy had many friends that he thought the world of, along with many co-workers from Winslow Community Bank, GAB, Coca-Cola, RC Cola, and Cave Quarries.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with Brother Troy Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the funeral home.
