Terry Tharp

Terry Tharp, 67, of Petersburg, passed away October 4, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born January 13, 1959 to John and Marjorie (White) Tharp in Washington, IN.

Terry served in the United States Air Force for four years and went on to work as a security guard for Indianapolis Power and Light for 15 years. Terry loved to rock out to his favorite music and fishing. He was a member of the Winslow American Legion.

Terry is survived by his wife, Debra (Albrecht) Tharp; his sons, Brian Tharp and Zach Tharp; daughters, Melissa (Josh) Abel and Allison Austin; 22 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; step sons, John (Jenny) Albrecht and Aron (Hope) Albrecht; brother, John David (Karen) Tharp; and Jenna (Mike) White; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Terry’s wishes he will be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
