Sharon Sue Adkerson, 87, of Petersburg, passed away February 28 in Petersburg. She was born January 21, 1937 to Roger and Naomi (Nicholson) Burkhart in Washington, IN. Sharon was a faithful member of White River Chapel Church in Bowman, IN.

Sharon is survived by her nephews, Rod Burkhart, Donald Burkhart, Joe Burkhart, and Barry Beck; nieces, Debbie Leslie, Dawn Beck, Suzanne Shipley, and Patty Montgomery; and Greg Selby who was "like a son".

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kae Adkerson; brothers, Doyle Burkhart, Donald Burkhart, Robert Burkhart, and Harold Burkhart; sister, Jo Ann Beck; nephews, Mike Burkhart and Tony Beck; and a niece, Janet Williams.

Services for Sharon will take place at 1 PM EST on Friday, March 1, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 11 AM EST until service time. Pastor Ron Ficklin will be officiating and burial will take place at Williams Cemetery/ White River Chapel in Bowman, IN. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
