Shari LaTrisha Hays, 71, of Petersburg, passed away at the Evansville St. Vincent Hospital Wednesday February 6, 2019. She was born in Oakland City, Indiana on June 27, 1947 to Alice Marguerite (Webb) Kinman and Hulett (Hoot) Kinman.
She married Vance Hays on October 31, 1973. They have a son, Matthew (Melissa) Hays and a daughter, Darcee Hays (Michael) Woodland, granddaughters Mackenzie Woodland, Zoey Hays and Brynn Hays and grandson Samuel Hays. She is also survived by sister, Gale Wick and brothers, Michael Kinman, Chris Kinman and John Kinman. She was preceded in death by brothers, Dave Kinman and Terry Kinman
Shari was a member of the Petersburg Main Street Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She was a graduate of Winslow High School and Oakland City University and was an elementary school teacher, an assessor for Toyota, substitute teacher, bookstore manager at Pike Central High School, pre-school teacher and Petersburg Mayor's Assistant.
Visitation will be held at Petersburg Main Street Presbyterian Church on Monday, February 11 from 4PM to 8PM EST. The funeral service will also be held at the church on Tuesday, February 12 at 10:00AM EST.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Vance and Shari Hays Performing Arts Fund through the Pike County Community Foundation.
