Russell K. Braun, 81, of Petersburg, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 17, 1938 in Otwell, IN to the late Christian A. and Oci Mae (Powers) Braun.

Russell married Sherry L. Burton on July 30, 1950. They were married for 61 years. He was a graduate of Otwell High School, the class of 1956. He retired from the railroad as an engineer after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Glen Dale Masonic Lodge No. 461 for over 50 years. He was a member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge No. 1617 for 37 years. He was also a member of the "Prides Creek Golfing Buddies and Friends" on Thursdays. Golfing was Russell's passion.

Russell is survived by his wife, Sherry; son, Terry (Laurie) Braun of Petersburg; daughter, Angie (Brian) Davis of Petersburg; grandchildren, Mandy (Kyle) Adams, Tyler (Deidra) Braun, Ashley Davis, Allyson Davis, and Cody Davis; great grandchildren, Ella Adams, Amelia Adams, Wesley Adams, Landry Braun, Zoey Braun, Hayden Davis, and Hadley Davis; sister, Mary Ellen Braun of Lancaster, OH; brother in law, Wayne Traylor of Otwell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Gordon, Martha Sue McCaslin, Madonna Bush, and Myra Traylor; brothers, Roy "Bud" Braun, Richard Braun, and Ronald Braun.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM EST on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM EST on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Reverend Craig Line will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
