Rosemary Brewster

Rosemary Camfield Brewster, 84, of Petersburg passed away on May 26, 2026, at Amber Manor Nursing Center. Rosemary was born September 25, 1941 to James Camfield and Annetta Tisdale.

Rosemary was the 1958 Miss Pike County at age 16 and was believed to be the first girl from Pike County to attend the Indiana State Fair Queen Contest. Rosemary graduated from Winslow High School. She married Alben McFarland and had two children Cheryl Patton and James McFarland. Later in life, she married Keith Brewster and had one son Derek Brewster.

Rosemary enjoyed meeting with friends and family, and watching old westerns and game shows. She worked various jobs. She retired from PCARC in2004. She was a great house mother as well. She was a collector of various house décor.

Rosemary is survived by daughter Cheryl Patton and son James McFarland of Winslow. Derek Brewster of Petersburg, granddaughter Caysha Rubel of Winslow, and great grandchildren Atticus and Astoria Rubel of Winslow, and an aunt Charlotte Erwin.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents James Camfield and Annetta Tisdale Johnson, step mother Margaret Northerner Camfield, and grandsons Damian Selby, Alben McFarland, and Keith Brewster.

The family would like to extend a “thank you,” to Amber Manor Nursing Center nurses and staff, Heart to Heart Hospice of Jasper, Dr. Gary Keepes, Deaconess Gateway of Evansville, and Pastor Denny Wiscaver, and to everyone who visited and prayed, and Harris Funeral Home.

Services for Rosemary will take place at 1 PM EST on Friday, May 29, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Denny Wiscaver officiating. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
