Ronald Jenkins, 76, of Utica, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

He was born in Oakland City, Indiana, on February 26, 1948, to Forrest Lee & Jacquelyn June (Fields) Jenkins, both preceding him in death.

Ron served in the U.S. Navy for six years aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, making 3 cruises to Vietnam during his time of service.  He worked as an electronics technician, owning and operating the Electronics Center in Petersburg, Indiana, and then working for 17 years as a scaleman for Amax Coal and over 6 years at Toyota Manufacturing in Princeton, Indiana before retirement.  He was a member of Brenton Chapel Church of Christ in Petersburg, and more recently Parrish Avenue Church of Christ in Owensboro, Kentucky.  His main passion in life was Jesus Christ and serving the church as a song leader.

Ron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia "Patty" Jenkins; brothers Mike (Cookie) & Gary (Shirley) Jenkins; and sisters Penny (Leroy) Brenton & Cheryl (John) Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am EST on Friday, August 23, 2024, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with Elder Ross Williams officiating, and burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4:00pm-7:00pm EST and on Friday from 10:00am EST until service time.
