Roger O'Neil Gray, 80, of Otwell passed away on Feb 19 th , 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Huntingburg, IN on November 16th, 1943 to Thomas and Evelyn Jean (Taylor) Gray. Roger graduated from Otwell High School in 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Gayle Kerley, on December 29 th, 1962. Roger worked for many years as a carpenter, coal miner and later went on to own Edge of the Forest Daylilies and Greenhouses. His favorite pastimes were rabbit hunting and enjoying the outdoors. Roger was also an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers. He is survived by his wife, Pat, of Otwell; two sons, Mike (Angie) Gray and Greg (Bambi) Gray, all of Velpen; four grandchildren, Megan (Jeremy) Brown, Mallory (Jake) Powell, Tanner and Kaylee Gray. Two great-grandchildren, Mariah Brown and Karter Powell. He is also survived by sister, Peggy Church, and brother, Andy (Barbara) Gray; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Edward O. Gray, and brother-in-law, Dean Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24 th at 1 PM EST at Harris Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 AM until service time. Burial will follow at the Otwell Cemetery.
