IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Alan
Ferguson
June 12, 1956 – October 3, 2025
Robert "Bob" Alan Ferguson, 69, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2025.
Born June 12, 1956, in Indianapolis, Bob grew up with a quick wit, a get-it-done attitude, and a knack for solving problems. He was reserved, steady, and the kind of man who noticed and appreciated the small, quiet moments in life.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon, and five children he loved deeply - Megan, Katie, Blake, Brice and wife Jordyn, and Emily and husband Nate - along with eight grandchildren who affectionately knew his garage as "Grandpa's Workshop." He is also survived by his sister, Karen Begley and husband Ben, and his brother, Richard Nester and wife Heather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Ferguson, and his daughter, Sara, whom he missed every day. Bob will be laid to rest alongside Sara in Petersburg, Indiana.
Bob showed his love through action. Whether it was moving his kids from house to house, fixing a leaky faucet, or replacing a flat tire, he was always there - and if by chance he couldn't do it himself, he probably knew a guy who could.
Two years before his passing, Bob suffered a debilitating stroke. Though he never fully recovered physically, he never lost his dry humor, quick wit, or ability to make everyone around him laugh.
An avid boater, Bob found peace on the water every summer and quiet excitement in the Colts season that followed each fall.
A graveside service for Bob will take place at 1 PM EST on Thursday, October 9th, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, IN.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on November 8 in Westfield, Indiana (details to come). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor him by helping someone who needs it, fixing something that's been broken, planting a tree (link to https://shop.arborday.org/commemorative-trees-for-others?producttype=TIM), or making a donation to the American Stroke Foundation (link to https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=asf&id=1) in his memory.
Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN is entrusted with care.
Bob didn't believe in goodbyes — so this is just a see ya later.
