Phillip Wineinger, 86, of Freedom, IN, passed away July 9, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born January 11, 1938, to William and Helen (Richardson) Wineinger in Velpen, IN. Phillip proudly served in the United States Navy and sailed on the USS Howard W. Gilmore, a Fulton- class submarine tender. He went on to work for 40 years as a technician at RCA Electronics Company. Some of his favorite things include working on cars and being outside. He loved animals, especially his dogs.
Phillip is survived by his son, Roy (Carleen) Wineinger of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Kirsten Wineinger; a sister, Gloria Street; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Wineinger; brothers, Boyd Wineinger and Lloyd Wineinger; sisters, Lillian Sievers and Sherrell Jackson; and his parents, William and Helen (Richardson) Wineinger.
A memorial visitation for Phillip will take place from 2 to 4 PM EST on Saturday, August 3, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with a memorial service at 4 PM. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
