Nora Evelyn Schlachter, 94, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on January 28, 2023, at Brickyard Health Care. She was born in Willisville, Indiana, on May 26, 1928, to Virgil and Ruby (West) Willis. Nora is preceded in death by her parents, husbands William Frank Evans in 1959 & Othmar Schlachter in 1974, son Stephen Evans, daughter Anita Walters, and brothers Gardner Willis & Paul Trusty. She is survived by son Bill (Linda) Evans, brother Carl Willis, sisters Alice Smith & Shelby Theiring, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm EST on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with Pastor Joe Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Community Cemetery.
