Myron Myers, 77, formerly of Otwell, IN, passed away Wednesday, January 1, at his home in Petersburg, IN with his wife and family at his side. He was born September 7, 1947 to Kenneth and Clara Myers. Myron graduated from Otwell High School in 1966. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Army and served three years in which one year was served overseas in Vietnam. He married Claire K. Anderson on December 28, 1968 while on leave. Myron was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the Petersburg Nazarene Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching IU basketball and Indianapolis Colts football. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Myron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claire K. Myers; son, Blake (LeAnn) Myers; daughter, Bridget (Jason Leighty) Myers; grandchildren, Lucas (Sierra) Myers, Kaitlyn Rickenbaugh, Kylie Rickenbaugh, Levi Rickenbaugh, Kassidy Rickenbaugh, Kamren Myers, Kaiden Myers, Jacob (Meredith) Pancake, and Nathan (Kelley) Hook; great grandchildren, Wrex Myers, Austeen Myers, Larson Myers, Ledger Myers, Gavin Pancake, Layne Pancake, Saoirse Pancake, Liam Hook, Connor Hook, Emma Hook, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Myron is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Virgil Wayne Myers; a sister, Gwendolyn Myers; and his grandson, Brody Beard.

Visitation for Myron will take place from 4 – 8 PM EST on Wednesday, January 8, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN. The funeral service will take place at 10 AM EST on Thursday, January 9, at the funeral home with visitation from 8 AM until service time. Pastor Steve Hamilton will be officiating and burial will follow at McClure Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
