Mildred Virden, 96, of Winslow, passed away May 12, 2023 in Petersburg, IN. She was born October 31, 1926 to George H. and Laura M. (Poehlein) Meyer in Huntingburg, IN. Mildred did a little bit of everything throughout her life from housekeeping to teaching Sunday school and Headstart programs.

Mildred is survived by her son, George (Deby) Virden; daughters, Barbara (Norm) Sweet and Teresa (Ted) Nicholson; grandchildren, Ethan, Joshua, and Kelley Virden and Laura Sweet-Hensley; great grandchildren, Sean, Alissa, and Jacari Virden and Kyana and Grace Hensley; and her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Virden; her parents; and her brothers, George, John, Albert, and Lawrence Meyer.

A graveside service for Mildred will take place at a later date. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
