Mildred Matteson, 99, of Petersburg, passed away January 16, 2025 at her residence. She was born December 8, 1925 to Thurlow and Esta (Smith) Matteson in Petersburg. Mildred enjoyed animals and her dresses. She was known for her sweet tooth, frequently enjoying her treats.

Mildred is survived by her sister, Betty Joan Murray of Petersburg and her several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wallace Matteson and Jack Matteson; and a sister, Patricia Matteson.

A service will be held for Mildred at 1 PM EST on Wednesday, January 22, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 12 PM EST until service time. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
