Martha J. Leighty, 93, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Serenity Springs at Northwood.

Martha was born in Winslow, Indiana, on August 25, 1931 to Curtis and Lulu Norrick.  She was married in 1947 to John Leighty.

She worked at Memorial Hospital, Gossert, and The Trading Post.  She enjoyed making crafts, knitting, travelling, and belonged to the Delts in Winlsow.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Alexander; son-in-law, Rodney Matteson; sister, Ruth Raber; grandchildren, Angie, Eric, Kathy, Matt, Jim & John; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Rosie Matteson, daughter and son-in-law Betty & Herb Tredway, son-in-law Ralph Alexander, grandchildren Christy & Amy, and 6 siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 14, 2025, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.
