Martha Jane Arnold, 86, of Petersburg, passed away January 14, 2023, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. She was born September 15, 1936, to John Wesley and Eva Mae (Potts) Ice in Hazelton, IN. She graduated from Mt. Olympus High School in 1953. She spent much of her life as a homemaker but also served as a caregiver in home healthcare and ran the Algiers grocery store. Jane was a faithful member of the Algiers Mission Church. Her favorite hobbies included quilting, gardening, and cooking.

Jane is survived by her sons, Dennis (Brenda) Arnold of Otwell and Gary Arnold of Petersburg; daughter, Joy (Michael) Beasley of Paris, IL; grandchildren, Amy Arnold, Jeremy Arnold, Todd Arnold, Dawn Busic, Joy Wilson, Hannah Fougnies, Katie Wynn, Josiah Arnold, and Micala Beasley; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Cain; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Junior Arnold; her parents; brothers, Jim Ice and Delbert Ice; sisters, Ruth Tolbert and Margie Shouse.

Services for Jane will take place 11 AM EST on Thursday, January 19, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation held from 6 – 8 PM EST on Wednesday, January 18, and from 9 AM until service time on Thursday. Her son, Pastor Gary Arnold will be officiating, and burial will follow at Arnold Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
