Marjorie Lee Tharp, 77, of Petersburg passed away June 4 at her residence. She was born in Pike County on April 22, 1941 to Marie Chewning White. Marjorie worked for the local PCARC for many years and was a member of the local Moose Lodge. Marjorie is survived by her sons, John David (Karen) Tharp and Terry P. (Debra) Tharp; daughter, Jenna (Michael) White; grandchildren, Brian Tharp, Zach Tharp, Allison Tharp, Melissa Aldridge, Brandon Tharp, Thomas Tharp, Rachel Haig, Cassie Ennis, and April Bement; many great grandchildren; brother Prentice Nelson (Alexandria) White; and daughter in law, Cindy Tharp. She is preceded in death by her husband John Albert Tharp; son, Russell Tharp; grandsons, Chad Tharp and Derek West; and her mother. A memorial service for Marjorie will take place at a later date.
