Marjorie Joan Overton Soderling, 85, devoted wife and mother, left Amber Manor Health Care on June 21,2022 to dance the Golden Streets of Heaven with her husband Lowell Kent Soderling, whom she married on June 20, 1959.

She was born in Stewartsville, IN on Nov 15, 1936, to her parents, the late James Overton and Anna Laura (Overton) Carney.

Joan, who was lovingly known as "Momma Jo," was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother.  She was also a caregiver of the elderly, whom she referred to as "The World's Greatest Jewels."

Joan is survived by her daughters Beth Soderling of Winslow, Tracy Soderling of Evansville and son Scott (Amber) Soderling of Vincennes.  She also had the joy of her grandsons Shaun (Kaycie) Soderling of Evansville and Jordan and Jonathan Soderling of Vincennes, great granddaughter Quinn Soderling and great-grandson Duke Soderling of Evansville, and sisters Linda (Sam) Neff of Oxford, PA, Diana Sue (Jim) Nelligan, Lynn (Charlie) Jochim and brother Bill Carney (all of Evansville), along with several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Betty Mae.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care and love shown by the staff of Amber Manor and AseraCare to our wonderful mother.

Graveside services and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Ronald McDonald House of the Ohio Valley, 3540 Washington Ave. Evansville, IN 47714, or The Trilogy Foundation, Ms. Jo's Stars, 303 North Hurstbourne Parkway, Suite 200 Louisville, KY 40222 by putting the staff of Amber Manor as honorees.
