Louis Edward Mattingly, 85, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on May 7, 2021 at Amber Manor Care Center.  He was born on April 5, 1936 to the late Walter and Inez (Borders) Mattingly. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked at McCords for several years and was a lifelong farmer, He enjoyed going to the horse races and watching sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  He loved keeping up with his great nephews and nieces sporting events. Uncle Eddie was an incredible storyteller.  He is survived by his loving niece Jody Mattingly Davis her husband, Todd; their children Brady, Chase, and Zoey of which he resided with for the last several years.   He is also survived by a sister Sue (Wayne) Lee; a brother Vernon (Linda) Mattingly; sister-in-law Janet Mattingly; and several nieces and nephews that he adored.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Mattingly and Inez Wichman, and brothers Joey Mattingly, William "Bud" Mattingly, Tom Mattingly, Robert "Pork" Mattingly, Danny Mattingly, and Ira "Arch" Mattingly.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. John's Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.
