Linda Lou Mitchell, 76, of Petersburg, entered into rest at 6:35am at Jasper Memorial Hospital on Wednesday January 16, 2019.

She was born in Petersburg on February 12, 1942 to Stella West and Dale Ivers.

She is survived by her husband: Fred "Tubb" Mitchell, daughter Libby Mitchell, son Joe Mitchell, granddaughter Amber Mitchell, great-granddaughters Addison, Kiki, Geneva, and Roslyn, brother Dave West, sister Sandy Loveless, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Linda graduated from Petersburg High School in 1960.

Linda was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and sewing.  She served as a troop leader for Girl Scouts and a den mother for Cub Scouts.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Auxiliary.

She enjoyed camping at Prides Creek Park with friends and family in the 70's, going to the Indianapolis 500, playing Bingo, vacationing in Tennessee and playing cards with the ladies at the VFW.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM EST on Monday, Jan. 21, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Service will be held at 2 PM with Pastor Paul Newton officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
