Leroy A. Sumner, 62, of Petersburg, passed away July 22, 2023 in Jasper, IN. He was born March 24, 1961 to Frederick and Mildred (Wiscaver) Sumner in Jasper, IN. Leroy worked for Kimball in Jasper, McDonalds in Petersburg, and also as a greeter at the Jasper Walmart. He was a proud member of the Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Cato, IN.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Sherri Sumner; daughter, Jamie (Butch) Sumner; sons, Chris Sumner, Scott Sumner, Fred (Kelsie) Sumner, and Jerry Jones; grandchildren, Chase Kelley, Reece Kelley, Brayden Miller, and Grayson Jones; brothers, Paul Wiscaver and Daniel Sumner; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tina Sumner.

Services for Leroy will take place at 1 PM EST on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Cato, IN with visitation from 10 AM EST until service time. Pastor Alex Benefield will be officiating. The family requests that those who attend please wear a Christian t-shirt or your favorite t-shirt with a funny saying just like Leroy liked to wear.
