Listen to Obituary

Kevin Dale Perry, 61, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 3, 1965, to Dale and Louise Perry, and was grandson of Lloyd and Oleava Perry.

He lived most of his life in Pike County. He graduated from Pike Central High School in 1983, and went to Lincoln Tech, studying diesel mechanics. He loved to tinker with cars, trucks, tractors, and all other kinds of mechanical devices, and he loved working on the family farm. The things he was most proud of were his son, Jared, and his time spent in service to his country in the Army National Guard. In the Guard, he attained the rank of Sergeant and was deployed overseas during 2003-2004, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded several medals and ribbons during his military service, and was part of SARTS (Small Arms Readiness and Training Section), where he earned the Governor’s 20 Distinction (Top 20% Marksmanship.) After his honorable discharge, he returned to the family farm. He was the type of person who would bend over backward to help someone, expecting nothing in return. He loved his family and his country. He will be missed.

He is survived by his son, Jared (Jessica) Perry; granddaughter Nadja Perry; step-granddaughters Hannah Mosby and Jayden Melton; siblings Lori (Eric) Gilham, Paul Perry, Kyle (Lynette) Perry; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. EST to the service time at 2:00 p.m. EST, with Pastor Keith Chanley presiding. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
